Quality of life of women with uterine cancer

Aim: The aim of the paper was to ascertain the quality of life of women with uterine cancer in relation to their age and educational level.
Methods: The sample consisted of 300 patients who were diagnosed with uterine cancer and underwent hysterectomy. The research was using a standardized questionnaire - Quality of Life in Adult Cancer Survivors (QLASC).
Results: Women aged over 50 years reported better quality of life than women aged under 50 years. More favorable results recorded in patients under 50 years of age were only shown in the domain of Benefit of disease. In relation to educational attainment, more favorable results were recorded in women with higher education based on the average scores in eight domains. Interesting was the finding that in the domains Negative emotions and Distress of recurrence, women with lower education were experiencing better quality of life than women with higher education.
Conclusion: The quality of life experienced by women with uterine cancer is influenced by their biological age and educational attainment.
