Age of the introduction of the first complementary food and determinants of its early introduction by Slovak mothers

Aim: To assess the age of introduction of complementary food (CF) and the factors leading to early introduction of CF (≤ four months). Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: In the period October 2011 to April 2012 we conducted research on 405 mothers of infants living in the Slovak Republic, particularly in the regions of Prešov (56.0%) and Košice (20.5%). Alcohol consumption in adolescents

Aim: To determine the level of alcohol consumption in a selected group of adolescents. Design: A descriptive cross-sectional study. Methods: The data were obtained using a part of the standardized ESPAD questionnaire for assessing consumption of alcoholic beverages. Aim: To analyse the influence of parents' belief in nutrition myths on the frequency of their serving certain foods to their children. Design: Cross-sectional study. Design: Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) is a cross-sectional school-based study focused on the target group of 11-, 13- and 15-year-old adolescents.
