Objective: The aim of our contribution is to outline the methodological aspects of our educational program designed for mothers of children with positive family history of allergy. The aim of our study was to determine whether the prepared by us specific structured educational program in the issue of food allergy in childhood will show the effectiveness of the clinical manifestations of food allergy, knowledge and satisfaction of mothers with mode of measures.

Methods: In the practical part of the research we carried out a specific educational program in mothers of children with positive family history of allergy. Into the sample were enrolled 78 mothers, from which the research group consisted of 38 mothers and the control group consisted of 40 mothers. To evaluate the effectiveness of research, we used an evaluation tool (questionnaire) which we constructed according to the Nursing Outcomes Classification.

Results: The results indicate that the program contributed positively in increasing the knowledge level of mothers about nutritional preventive measures, in reducing to disappearance of clinical symptoms manifested and as well very good satisfaction with the information provided.

Conclusion: Education in paediatric care represents an option for the patient and his family; it facilitates adaptation to changes in the way of life. Its main objective is to prepare his family and the patient so that they become independent and equal participants in the health care provided.
