The importance and the need of the nursing diagnoses' validation studies in connection with nursing diagnosis research is more and more emphasized. Validation of nursing diagnoses is necessary to development exact terminology, that describes nursing phenomena. The purpose of this study is to analyze 50 chosen validation studies published in 12 conference proceedings Classification of Nursing Diagnoses: Proceedings of Conference North American Nursing Diagnosis Association and journals (Nursing Diagnosis, International Journal of Nursing Terminologies and Classification, Kontakt ) to describe the most common used methods in chosen validation studies, to identify used measurement tools, subjects and summarize authors' recommendations for future nursing diagnosis research. The elementary thought approaches analysis, synthesis and comparison of validation studies were used to achieve set purpose. The results of analysis will contribute to expanding knowledge about validation study research methodology, to more effective nursing interventions selection and to improve the quality of nursing care too.
